SESSION INFORMATION
STEP ONE: SCHEDULING YOUR SESSION
Booking is completely online and takes just a few minutes. In order to reserve your date, you will sign some paper work and pay a nonrefundable 50% retainer - which is applied to the total session price.
If we haven't already, the easiest way to compare calendars is for you to email or call me with potential dates that work for you. I try to be as flexible as possible and here are a few things to consider when thinking about dates:
1. Weekend dates are limited and very popular - Priority is given to weddings and Storyteller Sessions. Many clients who work regular business hours find that by scheduling a sunset session they are able to work a session in with no or almost no time lost at the office.
2. Given the beautiful colors and moderate temperature, spring and fall are the busiest times of year for outdoor sessions. If you'd like a session during one of those seasons (ESPECIALLY a weekend spot!) I recommend reaching out as soon as possible.
3. If you have a particular date or holiday by which you need prints or gifts (I.E. Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother's Day, Father's Day etc), be sure to book at least 4 - 6 weeks prior to that date to ensure processing and printing time.
4. Beautiful photographs can be made in any kind of weather but I can and do reschedule sessions in the event of inclement weather. I am also happy to use your home or one of my semi-indoor locations if sticking to the schedule is a priority.
STEP TWO: THE SESSION
Once we've officially put your time and date on the calendar, I'll send you a getting ready guide. This will walk you through how to prepare for your session. It has been created and refined over years of experience, so it should answer any questions you may have, but as always, I'm just a click or call away.
I always check in a few days before a session to confirm the details and if at that point the weather or sickness becomes questionable we will discuss plan b. This is also a great time to ask me any last minute questions or mention an idea we haven't discussed.
The day of the session please be on time and photo ready - particularly if we've scheduled a sunset session as we can quickly run out of light. Sessions can last anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes (for babies). I don't charge by the hour because I don't want to be limited by a timeframe. Some sessions go smoother and we get everything we need very quickly and for others I might need a little more time to get some genuine smiles from a toddler and I want that flexibility.
STEP THREE: THE FUN PART!
Within 2 weeks of your session, you'll receive an email letting you know your preview gallery is ready. You'll then select your files - or this is when you can choose to upgrade to the full gallery!
Once that's done I'll finish retouching your selections and deliver the final gallery within 2 to 4 weeks.
What you then do with your images is perhaps the most important part to consider when planning a session, but it's often overlooked. All that time and money invested deserve a better return than gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere. You'll never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will printing them -  seeing them hanging on a wall or flipping through the pages of an album. After our time together I want you to be able to hold those tangible memories in your hand. This is why I include a substantial print credit for every client.
Below is a small sample of some of the items you can choose from.
